A Ballad Of Parallels
Tracing the same horizons seam, Adrift and dazzled in a mirrored dream, Side by side yet worlds apart, Split by fate, entwined by heart. You walk by the moonlit shores, I tread the well lit land, You float afar on the sea, I see you go from the faraway sands, Our shadows stretch but never blend, A romantic comedy with a tragic end, A story of those not meant to be, A ballad of parallels for the world to see. I called you out in a withered breath, A hymn so pale, a hymn of dread, You turned, yet never met my gaze, Like a longing lost in an endless maze. Like railways bound by rigid ties, Or rivers split beneath the skies, Moving and drifting in a silent grace, Yet reaching you, a futile chase. Still, in your orbit, I remain, A distant echo, a sweet refrain. Two souls so close, yet worlds away, Tracing a path we can't betray. The stars may shine, the tides may call, But time ensures we fade, not fall. Forever close, yet never near, Bound by love, yet caged by fear. And so we move, like hands of time, Tracing paths that never bind. A love untouched, yet always true— A life of longing, lived for you.
